Raising Awareness and Bringing Change to Our Community

Since 1983, April has been designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month by Presidential decree. Every year during the month of April, the community comes together to strengthen and highlight the efforts being made to prevent child abuse. One effort to raise awareness is the national planting of pinwheel gardens. The blue pinwheel symbolizes the efforts being made to raise awareness, strengthen families, and prevent child abuse and neglect. Isabella County Child Advocacy Center organizes the planting of these gardens throughout Isabella County, so be on the lookout for all the pinwheels throughout the month of April! We also plan several prevention education activities and training throughout the month for members of our community in the hopes of educating and promoting open communication about a very sensitive and difficult topic.  Please see below for more information.
